Intro
Rune Crafting is the making of runes. Runes are used for magic. The better your rune crafting level, the better runes you can make. Currently the best are law runes.

Getting Rune Essence
You must mine essence, or but it from other players. To mine it you must be teleported to the mining area. You need a pickaxe to mine it. Below is a list of people that can teleport you.

• Headwizard in Wizard tower

• Aubury in Varrock

• Wizard Cromperty in East Ardougne

• Wizard Distentor in the Magic guild

• Brimstail Gnome in the Gnome tree village in the underground cave

Talismans
To get the altars that you use to turn the essence into runes you need a talisman. Talismans may be bought from players, get them form monsters, or from quests. The law talisman CAN NOT be traded to my knowledge. Below is a list of the talismans and where to be them.

Altars
To find the altar you must use the locate option of the talisman, it will say "North", "South", "East", etc. Below are the locations, this will save you time.

Air altar: north-east of Crafting guild, south of Falador
Mind altar: Between the Goblin Village and Dwarven Mountain
Water altar: Lumbridge Swamps
Earth altar: North-east from Varrock, near the Jolly Boar Inn
Fire altar: Al Kharid desert, south of the mining field
Body altar: South of the Monastry, between the Barbarian Village and Dwarven Mountain
Cosmic altar: South of the lost city
Chaos altar: south of the Dark Warriors Castle (Wilderness)
Nature altar: Southern part of the Karamja Jungle
Law altar: Northeast corner of Entrana Island

Combination Runes

You may have noticed above the mist, steam, lava etc runes. And thought "What the world!?!?! Those aren't runes!!" Well yes they are. For Example mist is the same as 1 air and 1 water. Dust is 1 air and 1 earth. Mud is earth and water, etc. To make them you must have essence, a tally, and the proper other rune for the combination. So let say I want some lava runes. I would take 1 fire tally, a bunch of earth runes, and essence. I would go to the fire altar (you can also go to the earth altar, but let say I am close to the fire altar). I go into the altar and I enchant my essence, and then I I should have fire runes.

Tiaras

Tiaras allow you to get into altars, and you will not have to take up a space with a talisman, you wear you ticket in, well in a way. What you do is you get a tiara mould, then make a tiara (you use silver). Then you take your tiara and the talisman you want it to become and go to the altar. Enter the altar. Your talisman WILL disapear.

Multiple Runes
Once your level is high enough you can get more than one rune per essence. For example for level 33 Rune Crafting you get 4 air runes for each essence.
